Monday Group - week two

This week we completed our current projects - reflections and mono-glazes. The results are very good as shown below.

It is a Bank Holiday Monday next week so no class next week for this group. Everyone has been tasked with finding source images for the next project - urban/rural landscape. If people have time at home they can start to analyse their source image(s) by drawing thumbnails (two small drawings: line then tone) and if they feel confident they can start painting the ground colours (lighter, less detailed painting) ready for adding the more detailed layers in class on 13 May. Resource images and tips have been added to the resources pages in case anyone struggles to find an image and of good quality. These have a basic theme of "people leaving a mark on the countryside" plus "urban views".

First Project - Monday Group

We are now up and running with our new terms projects. For those new to the group there is the Mono Glazes Project (yellow and blue palettes) and for returners from last term there is the Reflections Project (still-water reflections). Both projects have got off to a great start as the images below illustrate very well.

New Resource Pages

There are two new Resource Pages on our virtual learning environment (blog).
The first "Programme Content and Dates" is just that - a list of projects and dates for the current term (both classes).
The second "Something new to think about", also for both classes, contains short articles connected to our subject (art). The articles look at various aspects around equality and diversity from the world of art which hopefully will not only interest you from a humane point but also from an art subject perspective, and simply make you think.

Classes start next week!

Hi everyone,

Our watercolour classes on Monday and Tuesday evenings are both starting again next week, Monday 15th April and Tuesday 16th April. Both classes start at 6pm and end at 8pm. Same classroom, same venue. See you all there!

Tuesday Group - final class of term 2

We finished our course tonight with exotic hens and landscapes. Fantastic results all round!  We start again on Tuesday 16 April.
