Welcome back to the new term!

Welcome back!

It's been a long summer without getting the paints wet but we are now all back and getting ready to go.  This term we will be trying four projects: portrait painting, black painting, depth of field painting, and, emotive, transformative landscape painting. This week we will practice a technique for drawing the face, enlarging and transferring to the paper ready for painting which we will start next week.

Weeks 2 and 3 we will develop and complete our first project: portrait painting - a wonderful way to learn and relearn a wide range of techniques. Of course, always a daunting subject for any artist, at any level, portraiture is also a great way to get back into the way of painting and being creative.

See the RESOURCES pages to the right of this text for a step by step guide in pictures to help us with the first stage. Next week there will be another resource page guide to help us during the following two weeks.
