Final class of 2012!

Today we finished our final project and the last class of 2012 - time flies when you are having so much fun! Below you can see the very creative responses to our 'emotive, transformative' landscapes project. We meet again on Tuesday evening 08 January 2013. Landscape project

Most of us have reached the half-way stage in our final project for the term - emotive, transformative landscapes. The first stage was to create a landscape that reflects more or less accurately the source image whilst the second stage involves creating an alternative interpretation. This can include either or any combination of the following changes: style, technique, colour, line, tone, time, season, weather, mood, atmosphere. Here are the results so far, a very interesting mix of subjects in the first paintings with a lot of anticipation about how the second image will be different from the first!

New landscape project starts

Final stage of DOF project

This week we wrapped up our depth of field (DOF) project paintings and some others we were working on. Next week we start our new and final project of this term: emotive, transformative landscapes. More on that in the next blog post. Here are the final DOF images showing that we have all learned so much in such a short space of time.
